No sleep till Brisbane
We left the hotel in the middle of the night for a 6am flight from Cairns to Brisbane. Flying with Jetstar is a strange experience their staff range from wonderful to miserable and you never quite know what you are getting. For the first time ever we are questioned about Dens wheelchair excesseries and several times they tried to change us for extra weight even thought we had tried to buy extra weight before hand. I. The end I paid £7 ( They had tried to charge us £40 ) then for some weird reason they gave us a £15 credit to use on the plane ( no one else seemed to get this) so in total we ended up £8 up.
The good news was the rain we left behind in Cairns was replaced by bright sunshine in Brisbane. More good news despite the fact we arrived at our hotel at 9am our room was ready. Hotel Indigo is a trendy boutique hotel and the room was lovely and so nice to get into it early.
We chilled out for a bit then went for a walk around the botanical gardens ( stopping on way for a strawberry matcha latte, see how bohemian we have become) before walking g back through the main CBD district.
We don’t have much planned for Brisbane other than just chilling out before our return to The UK later in the week but it is a lovely busy city.
We hit the bar in the evening , it is a Japanese themed bar and restaurant ins the hotel and it was very pleasant , we were sort of the only ones there so didn’t feel conscious like we did at aster in Sydney.
