River City

As I mentioned there is no big plan for Brisbane so today we took tot he river , Brisbane has a great river bus service called the city cats so we took advantage to visit the new Farm area which wa lovely and then road it to,the end of the line and back again to South Bank before heading back to our hotel for the evening. me and Deb fell in love with some of the properties on the riverbank. while there have been no touristy things to do here this is a city that I could easily live in.

Our last full day in Brisbane ( and Australia) saw us first go shopping for pressies for the family , as well as the promise of bringing g home Aussie choc treats you can’t get I the UK (coffee snickers anyone) before hitting the river taxis once again travelling upstream this time to the other end of the line before getting off at South bank once again for a well earned drink.

A quick change back at the Hotel and we were off out for another first, this time Debs first ever Thai meal in a quirky establishment called phat boy. We had the set meal which was nice but at the top end of Debs spice tolerance. She wanted to get a photo of the sign that said phat boy but couldn’t as there was a fat man ( not me) sat in front of it. Eventually he moved and she got her shot.

Tomorrow we have a full day in Brisbane before we make our way to the airport for a evening flight to Doha and a quick turnaround to catch our flight to Manchester.I imagine the next instalment of the blog will be written in good old Blighty.
