Green Island, gateway to the Great Barrier Reef

Up early again and another taxi this time to the reef terminal in Cairns to catch the big cat to green island.

The weather was it unfortunately a bit iffy today , not the sunshine of previous days and the journey over to green island (1 hour 15 mins was a bit choppy so Debs slept while I listened to the marine biologist tell us all about the island and the reef.

On a negative point we were unable to snorkel ( something we used to enjoy before Debs got ill) but we had booked both the semi submarine and the glass bottomed boat. As it turned out that was an inspired choice as we seemed to see a lot more than the snorkelers did.

We also took a walk around the island on the boardwalk and it was beautiful, especially when the sun did break through.

Hat tip as well tot he staff on the catamaran who were sensational and make sure me and Deb were well looked after.

I won’t write much more as the pictures more than tell the story
