Rosebud
I remember a really cold Winters day in the UK, I was travelling to Coventry on the early morning train to a work meeting when my phone pinged, it was a message from Neil Elliott my Aussie partner in crime taken outside his favourite Aussie coffee shop with a lighthouse in the background. I remember vividly as I was staring out of a rain scarred window of my carriage wishing I was with Neil outside that cafe.
Well today that has become a reality! The day started by saying goodbye to the Melbourne Intercontinental and before I go any further can I just say what a delight this hotel and its staff have been. One of the best hotels we have ever stayed at, 10 out of 10 easily, friendly, professional excellent service in every way.
We were being picked up by Neil’s son-in-law Chatti, we had never met him before so it’s always a little strange but we needn’t have worried, he is a fine gentleman and the journey from the centre out to the peninsula flew by, it was great catching up with Neil’s greater family before we went out to the coffee shop by the lighthouse for lunch.
We were then given a tour of the area where Neil lives and it is nothing short of paradise, the fact this guy wants to keep leaving it to travel with me confirms that he is more than a little odd.
Seriously though they say never meet your hero’s, I am mega blessed to have one of my hero’s as one of my closest, dearest friends, I will always be thankful to Neil for his love, prayers and wisdom, his blessing to me and Deb is unbelievable. To see him in his natural habitat was such fun and to round things off with a barbie at his place was the perfect end to the day.can confirm no shrimps were involved.
